At the 2011 New Year celebrations at midnight, some 500,000 spectators had gathered around the world's tallest standing structure, Burj Khalifa, to celebrate the new year with display of fireworks.Thousands of spectators battled long traffic queues to reach the world's tallest building on New Year's eve,Shaikh Zayed Road is blocked with traffic leaving Burj Khalifa at 2.30am on Saturday.
