We don’t remember that over last couple of months how many times we have posted about the launch of another low cost tablets . An Indian consumer was never spoiled for choices before ,however it do result in confusion also with customer unable to decide which tablet to go with. We decided to evaluate these low cost ( less than 15 k tablets ) to make it easier for you while making choices in time of Tablet wars.
We have evaluated the tablets which fall under 15k and criteria for rating them is hardware  quality which includes the processor, GPU, Memory Storage, Battery, Camera, Connectivity and Touch Screen Quality, Software which includes the OS version and level of its customization and last but not the least are the application which comes in these devices.

Top 5  Low Cost Tablets :

1) Reliance 3G Tablet : The 7inch tablet from Reliance is clearly the best choice for various reasons. It has the descent processor Qualcomn MSM  800 MHz .Many may say there are 1Ghz processor also available in other tablets but then those are cheap processors like Rockchip , Telechip etc . Qualcomm processor is more stable processor. It has 512 MB Ram and there is the combo of a 2MP camera and VGA camera with 3G , WiFi , Bluetooth and GPS .As far OS is concerned it comes with Android 2.3

Reliance Tab comes pre-loaded with quite a few apps so as to enhance the overall tablet experience. These include Youtube, Gmail, Facebook, Google maps, and Google search. The tablet also comes with R World Online, an app that opens the door to a host of Reliance provided entertainment options, such as news, music, movies, wallpapers, and so on.Other features the tablet offers include Video recorder, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth Voice calling, GPS, , Alarm, Speaker phone, SMS, and MMS. The tablet also offers FM Radio (which require Headphone to be connected to tablet ), while the Live TV feature will ensure you are just a tap away from keeping in touch with all that is going on in the world around you.

2)Olive Pad : Many people would not agree to this but among low cost tablets launched this still has descent specs. The 7 inch tablet is powered by MSM Qualcomm 600 Mhz processor. It has 512 MB RAM  , 3MP camera and front VGA camera, Wifi ,Bluetooth  ,3G and GPS . It comes with android 2.2.

Again what i liked about the tablet was the application part. It comes with online TV application Zenga TV which has almost all TV channels . Also it has Mapmyindia sygic maps . Also please note Mapmyindia own tablet Carpad is far better in terms of performance than Olive pad but it is way costly and secondly it does not have android market .So Olive pad still can be a good choice.

3)Spice MiTab : The device has just been launched and it comes with specs which are as par with Reliance ,Olive and is wonderfully priced at Rs 11,990. The MiTab comes with a 17.75 cm capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 MHz Turbo Processor and Adreno 200 Graphics processor. 4)Airtel Betel Magiq : Priced at Rs 9,999 and comes with android 2.3 and Reliance 3G tablet with android 2.3. The only drawback for this tablet would be its resistive touch screen and absence of GPS . But then this is the list of low cost tablets and a tablet under 10k ,such specs are bound to be there. However the best part is that tablet comes with Qualcomm 1Ghz processor which is better than even reliance tablet.

Also The best thing about the device is that it’s not locked to any network & can be used independently on any network. Air tel users will get 2GB of free 3G data usage each month for the next two months.
